KeenLook "Full Review" Sample List
A Nigro Firm “full review” level of KeenLook coordination review looks for things like:
- Items from the “interdisciplinary only” list.
- Items from the “key items” list.
- All Disciplines: All notes, details, sections, risers, etc. are properly referenced to the correct location.
- Civil: The grading plans show water flowing away from the building and not pooling in unexpected places.
- Civil: Underground profiles match the utility plans.
- Architectural Door Schedule: All entries are checked vs. the floor plans and head/jamb/sill details, wall types, and adjacent flooring materials. Hardware sets match the door’s use (i.e., smoke seals on doors in smoke partitions, closers on fire rated doors, etc.).
Architectural: Reflected ceiling plans (RCPs) have logical ceiling materials and match the Finish Schedule.- Architectural: Interior elevations match the configuration of the room shown on the floor plans. Ceiling heights and soffits match the RCP. Door and frame types match the Door Schedule. Wall finishes match the Room Finish Schedule.
- Architectural: Exterior elevations match the floor plans (gridlines, doors, windows, down spouts, CJs, roofline, etc.). Shown exterior wall materials match the wall sections.
- Architectural Finish Schedule: Room names/numbers match the floor plans. All rooms are scheduled. All finish materials are completely specified.
- Architectural: Casework fits into the available space and matches between the floor plans, interior elevations, details, and sections.
- Architectural: Enlarged plans match the configuration shown on the smaller scale plans.
- Architectural: Stair sections match the floor plans (gridlines, number of treads and risers, direction of flow, landing location/elevation, etc.). Stairs have handrails that are fully detailed.
- Electrical Light Fixture Schedule: Lights on plans agree with Schedule. Mounting heights are given for pendant and wall-mounted fixtures.
- Mechanical: Verify that hydronic piping and HVAC ductwork connect between floors at the same location and size.
- Mechanical: Fire dampers are shown where ducts pass through fire-rated partitions.
- Mechanical & Plumbing: Trace all systems throughout the building to ensure continuity and that everything “attaches to a source.”
- Plumbing: Verify that plumbing plans match plumbing risers (piping configuration, sizes, and plumbing fixtures).
- Plumbing: Piping that operates via gravity flow (i.e., storm water and sanitary piping) is not expected to flow “up hill.”
- Fire Protection: Piping shown on the plans matches the riser.
An example of how a Full Review would approach the topic of a HVAC Unit on the roof can be found here.
The example types of items checked in this level of review is not meant to be a comprehensive list. It is only intended to give you an idea of the depth and type of things checked at this level of review.
