KeenLook Review Reports
All reviews will have at least a top-level “Executive” Summary Report. If a more detailed drawing-by-drawing report is desired, for an added fee, that can be done instead. Note, however, that we don't itemize every red-mark that we make on the drawings and specs... it would take us too long. As an example, on a small municipal building of 125 drawings, we had over 1,800 red-mark comments. Thus, our reports only attempt to note the more important or significant items that we've found. Keep in mind, however, that the review team is not familiar with the owner’s requirements or the history of the project and may not view “significance” in the same way as the owner or designer. Thus, it is possible, that non-reported comments may have a high level of importance. Subsequently, the marked-up construction documents (not the report) should be used for correction of discrepancies noted. ![]()
Executive Level Reports
In a top-level “Executive” Summary Report, we give an overview, on a discipline-by-discipline basis, that summarizes what we believe are the most significant coordination errors, omissions and discrepancies found as well as comments or general concerns noted by the review team. The report is given to you in hardcopy printout, Microsoft Word, and/or PDF format. An example Executive Summary Report can be found here.
Drawing-by-Drawing Level Reports
In a drawing-by-drawing report, we look over each drawing and spec section and record the more significant coordination errors found on each page. The report is given to you in hardcopy printout, Microsoft Word, and/or PDF format. Some project managers find these reports very useful for creating an easy to carry and duplicate (or email) overview document to share with all members of the design team. An example of an actual small sheet-by-sheet report is given here. Note that there is an added fee for this type of report.
Reports in Differing Formats
If a report format is more convenient to you to be in a format that differs from Microsoft Word, and/or PDF format, please let us know. For example, some or our clients have requested that we provide our detailed drawing-by-drawing report in MicroSoft Excel format, with specifically labeled columns (see here for an example). Depending upon the desired format and depth of reporting desired, an added fee may or may not be levied.
